Welcome to the Scottish Energy Performance Certificate Register.

On this site you can:

Please select from the options on the menu bar above.

Search for and retrieve an EPC by report reference number (RRN) or Postcode

Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) and recommendations reports are now held on a central register.  These can be viewed by entering the report reference number (RRN) on the document (this is a 20 digit number which is on the top right hand corner of the EPC), the RRN is five groups of four digits separated by dashes, e.g.  1111-2222-3333-4444-5555. If you do not have this reference number, try by entering the postcode.  The search facility will only allow you to view the current EPC.

Not all EPCs are available as central Lodgement has been phased in.  The data available is as follows:

The search facility which has been set up, allows accesses only to an individual.  The use of any automated software program to access the register or website is prohibited.  The EPC contains information about a building only, details about the owner or tenant are not recorded or published*.

Further information about EPCs are available from the Scottish Government website at: http://www.gov.scot/Topics/Built-Environment/Building/Building-standards/enerperfor/epcguidance

*Following advice from the Information Commissioners Office, EPC and recommendations report are not considered to be ‘personal data’ and therefore the data ‘opt-out’ option is no longer in force. However, access will be restricted for the buildings where building owners used the ‘opt-out’, the restriction will remain in place until the EPC is updated or replaced.

Search for an EPC assessor

To help building owners find an EPC assessor, a central register of all Scottish EPC assessors is now available.

To find an assessor close to you, please enter your postcode and a maximum distance (in miles) from your location. This will return a list of assessors and a map showing their location and the type of EPC assessments they can undertake. Selecting an assessor will provide their full contact information.
